This was the first parade I've ever shot, although I will use the term "shot" a bit loosely here. It was a very fun day, although it felt like I walked 50 miles considering how many times I traversed the parade route as I took pictures of the different people and groups. It was a fun day, even considering the heavy rain that showed up which, in typical San Diegan fashion, seemed to catch people out. I snagged a cover for my camera just in case, but there were more than a few people scrambling for cover, or, as is the case in one of my favorite shots I've taken this year, had to improvise.
Overall, I was pleased with what I got, learned a lot in the mistakes I made, and am looking forward to doing more events like this.
